Jess Albright Youth Scholarship
Late in 2014, the sport of kayaking lost one of its shining young stars; Jess Albright. Jess was not only an amazing paddler and athlete who had a unique love of the sport but also a very humble and kind person. Throughout his career, Jess stood out as a role model and an inspiration for new boaters, both young and old. Known throughout the sport, Jess was not only cheerful and enthusiastic but extremely supportive of those around him, regardless of their skill level.
In honor of his life and legacy, the Bluegrass Wildwater Association has created the Jess Albright Youth Scholarship. Targeted specifically at promoting the talent of young boaters, this scholarship will be awarded to a young boater, age 18 or below, who has demonstrated a self-driven desire to pursue the sport of white water kayaking.
